My  Story

When we were freshly dating, my husband and I would lay on the couch together just talking until we rambled enough to let the quite hope of something more turn to dreaming of a life together. We especially loved imagining what our first house would look like. He had a journal where he would draw the layout of our dream home. There were many sketches with various iterations, but they all had one feature in common.

It sounds silly, but at the time, I was convinced one day I would get a pet tortoise whenever we arrived at that point in our lives. Even though he always laughed at the idea, my husband would still include in every sketch of our “dream house” a little side enclosure for the easy-going reptiles.

I am sorry to say, 8 years later and I still do not have a fellow slowpoke to call mine, but, to my absolute joy and delight, I do have two beautiful boys —and no enclosure either, except maybe the fenced in backyard (they are their own types of wild animals after all).

And I won’t lie, we still dream of the house of our imaginations, but I have come to realize the joy of fulfilling our dreams one step at a time —not an arrival but an unwinding journey. My hope is to help walk you along yours. Because in the way that our quiet hope turned to the tangible sketches that proved a future together, reality has become better than our imaginations. Even so, it started with our happy fantasy 8 years ago. It always starts with a dream.

Let me dream with you.

A Little About Me

I’m a mom to two boys, so life is always exciting! To wind down, I prefer to cross-stitch or get lost in a good book. I’m happiest when making memories and going on little “adventures” with my husband and kids. Whether we’re just going to the park, camping in the mountains, or wandering the beach hunting for shells, I love soaking up the simple moments and making memories with my boys.
